Eat Slow Good for Health

There are some parents who teach their children to eat fast. And it seems to have become one of the habits of almost everyone. But have you ever tried to eat much longer? Eat slowly turned out to not always look bad. In fact, a number of health benefits you can get by giving more time when you eat. Benefits include:

* Prevent overeating
Satiety is usually not directly come just like that. The more time you spend in eating, the more time for your brain or break the hunger signal. In fact, eating slowly can help you lose weight, or at least contribute to maintaining a healthy weight.

* More favors
Eating one bite at a time allows you to enjoy the food longer. To do so, take time to sit down, eat with people who are fun and focus on what you eat while avoiding distractions like television. Slow down mealtimes means keeping your health and enjoy the gastronomic pleasures.

* Better Digestion
Did you know that an important part of digestion occurs in the mouth with an enzyme produced by your saliva? Carbohydrate digestion actually starts in your mouth and then continue in your small intestine. Proteins are digested mainly in your stomach. When you chew, your stomach will be sent a message about what you eat so it can prepare the necessary enzymes. So, eat slowly and chew well will improve your digestion.

* Prevent insulin resistance
Research in Japan found that eating quickly associated with insulin resistance. Insulin resistance is a silent condition that can increase the likelihood of developing diabetes and heart disease. Also, fast food seems to be a risk factor for metabolic syndrome (a combination of symptoms such as high blood pressure, obesity, high cholesterol, and insulin resistance).

* Avoid the risk of gastroesophageal reflux
Eating quickly can cause acid reflux. This may be especially true for people who suffer from gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). GERD is a disease of the upper gastrointestinal tract that occurs because the stomach acid with a high degree of acidity rises into the esophagus.
